FAQ

I logged into the University/Faculty/School's VPN but cannot access Library resources

Download GlobalProtect, the new UNSW Remote access VPN, to replicate on-campus access to Library resources. The legacy VPN, Cisco AnyConnect, will be decommissioned in December 2024.

If you use Cisco AnyConnect, we recommend you switch to GlobalProtect for remote access to Library resources.

When using Cisco AnyConnect, you need to connect via the UNSW Library Resource VPN connection. You cannot access UNSW Library subscriptions using one of the UNSW VPN faculty or general access addresses when off campus. The library address connection routes all your internet traffic through the UNSW network. For more information and support see Legacy Remote access VPN.

Alternatively, access Library resources using your own ISP (e.g. home or public internet/Wi-Fi) and the Library collection search. You will be prompted to authenticate using your zID and password. As long as you keep your browser session open, you will remain logged in to Library resources. If you close your browser, you may be presented with the login page again. For more options and information see how to access Library online resources.
