FAQ
How do I request library items?
Sign in to myLibrary and search Library collection to find and request items.
UNSW staff and students can request items that are:
- on loan to someone else
- in Library Storage or in Paddington Storage
- at another UNSW campus.
However, you are not able to request an on the shelf item to be placed on hold for you. You may find specific items that cannot be requested via the Library collection record e.g. accessories, anatomical models and valuable items. To access these, you will need to request directly with Library staff at the Help Zone or email address provided.
Which Library you can select to pick up your request from may depend on the item type or original location.
- If an item is at one campus Library and you normally attend a different campus, you can request a transfer to your campus.
- Items currently on the shelf cannot be collected at the same Library location or campus. (e.g. cannot pick up an item from Main Library at Law Library - same Kensington campus)
- If you want to be next in line for an item on loan, your request is added to the queue. When the item becomes available, pick up at the same Library or another campus.
- A Library Storage or Paddington Storage item is available for pick up at the same Library or another UNSW campus Library.
If the Library does not have an item you need, you may be able to borrow from another Library and request an interlibrary loan.
