FAQ

My thesis contains third-party copyright material. What do I need to do to ensure I can still deposit it in UNSWorks?

You must have permission from the copyright holder to reproduce any third-party copyright material included in your thesis.

In some cases, the re-use licence used by the copyright holder will already allow you to reproduce their material. If this is not the case, you must request permission from the copyright holder prior to submitting your thesis. It is a good idea to begin this process as early as possible.

Redacting third-party copyright material after submitting your thesis for examination and/or permanent restriction is not permitted. You will need to contact the Graduate Research School for guidance if you are unable to secure permission to reproduce third-party copyright material in your thesis, which will be made public in UNSWorks.

Access Copyright and your thesis and the Higher Degree Research Hub for more information.
