FAQ

Can I restrict access to my thesis and still comply with the UNSW Open Access Policy?

Yes. You can choose to restrict access to your Higher Degree Research thesis for up to 24 months as part of the standard thesis deposit process. Restricting access to your work in this way is called applying an embargo. Choosing to apply an embargo is not a violation of the UNSW Open Access Policy.

You may wish to apply an embargo when immediate public access to your thesis is not desirable, for example, when your research leads to a patent, is commercial-in-confidence, or is legally or culturally sensitive. More information about embargos can be found at Depositing your thesis to UNSWorks.
